When you power on a virtual machine with VMware ESX VI3 or vSphere it may reach 95% progress in the tasks, but when you open the console you’ll notice the error: “Unable to connect to the MKS: vmx connection handshake failed for mks of /vmfs/volumes…”.

I'm a Senior Consultant working for VMware, living in the South East of England with 14 years of industry experience. Starting out as an NT4 admin in 1997, a Linux admin in 2004, and infrastructure team management roles, I now focus on virtualisaton (desktop & server).
